We are looking for a highly motivated healthcare professional to be part of the South Zone clinical operations structure. If you are passionate about improving health care and want to make a difference, this Seniors Health Clinical Nurse Educator position might be right for you. As a Clinical Educator that supports the Seniors Health clinical teams, you will take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education for clinical teams including orientation, compulsory and continuing education, and clinical development. This position is fast paced and technologically evolving. This position will work closely with our Continuing Care Leadership team, to ensure our health care providers are supported to serve clients receiving care within any of our South Zone Continuing Care programs (Palliative Care, Home Care, Supportive Living, and Long-Term Care).
Description:
As an Instructor, you will be an expert practitioner and key educator in support of both nursing staff and the multi-disciplinary clinical team. You will take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education for nursing staff including orientation, compulsory and continuing education, and clinical development. You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational and evidence informed practice. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or Equivalent Health Relate Degree required. Experience with educational content development and delivery. Excellent computer skills, with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel. High level understanding of CCHSS. Excellent public speaking skills. Experience with change management protocols and processes. Knowledge and skills related to application of learning principles for diverse audiences required. Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team. Experience working with teams through change. Ability to balance numerous demands and conflicting priorities. Demonstrate ability to work independently within a large organization with a variety of staffing groups. Proven ability to build and foster multidisciplinary relationships. Demonstrate ability to provide mentorship to colleagues. Ability to walk/stand/sit for long periods keyboarding/mousing documentation for prolonged periods of time.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience using web-based technology for providing education preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years clinical practice in Seniors Health Additional Education, advanced skills, and clinical preparation across Seniors Health spectrum (Home Care, Long Term Care, Transition Services, Access Centre, Palliative Care and Specialty Geriatrics Areas. Connect Care Experience within Seniors Health Programs preferred.
