THE OPPORTUNITY FOR A REMOTE/HYBRID WORK SCHEDULE IS POSSIBLE AFTER SIX MONTHS.

BASIC FUNCTION:

Responsible for supporting programs that enhance new student transitions with a strong focus on student ambassador initiatives such as tour guides and orientation leaders. As a dedicated member of the Undergraduate Enrollment, New Student Transitions & Visitor Services team, contribute to the execution of strategies and the implementation of cohesive and inclusive on-campus recruitment, yield, orientation, and welcoming programs.

Duties and Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plan and support recruitment, yield, orientation and onboarding programs for the new first-year and transfer students and their family members. This includes but is not limited to fall recruitment, spring yield, summer and winter orientation, and welcoming programs.

Assist with supporting specialized programs in collaboration with campus partners. This includes but is not limited to academic partners, and Offices that support talent development, international, and transfer students.

Contribute to on-campus visit events and daily campus visits including serving as presenter of daily and group information sessions and other yield or new student presentations and events.

Support student, family, and supporter engagement via a variety of platforms including but not limited to the department email address, social media sites, and more.

Assist with the recruitment, training, and ongoing development of student ambassadors, graduate assistants, and practicum students.

Serve as a liaison between student ambassadors and the New Student Transition team, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

Provide guidance and support to student ambassadors, fostering a positive and inclusive environment.

Work within the new student transitions budget.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Assistant Director and Director.

LICENSES, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT:

Excel, Word, Access (or other database programs), PeopleSoft, and other database management and spreadsheet software. Social media. Technolutions Slate.

Required Qualifications

REQUIRED:

1. Master’s degree.

2. Minimum of two years’ experience working in Orientation and/or Undergraduate Admission.

3. Minimum of two years’ experience supervising a student ambassador team (including recruitment and training).

4. Demonstrated experience and dedication to integrating issues of inclusion, equity, and social justice in your work.

5. Demonstrated experience training student leaders.

6. Demonstrated experience with program planning and execution.

7. Demonstrated strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.

8. Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.

9. Demonstrated ability to work with students, faculty, and staff.

10. Demonstrated ability to collaboratively plan and deliver programs across the institution.

11. Demonstrated computer skills (including Excel, Word, Access, and database).

12. Demonstrated social media skills (including various social media platforms).

13. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.

Preferred Qualifications

PREFERRED:

1. Demonstrated experience with social media marketing and digital communication strategies.

2. Demonstrated familiarity with CRM systems and data analysis tools.

3. Demonstrated problem-solving skills.

4. Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing environments.

5. Demonstrated experience in research methodology.
